How And When To Do Body Detox?

Detoxification means cleaning the blood. By removing and eliminating toxins, body detoxification can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain overall well-being. Detoxification is about cleaning the impurities from blood in the liver, resting and nourishing the body from inside out. Just like you take care of your car or home, your body needs a regular cleanse to function properly.

  1. Do you feel tired for no reason?
  2. Do you smoke?
  3. Do you drink coffee every day?
  4. Do you have fewer than 2 bowel movements a day?
  5. Are you overweight?
  6. Do you look older than your age?
  7. Do you drink tap water?
  8. Do you catch colds or flu easily?
  9. Do you have allergies?
  10. Do you have frequent mood swings?
  11. Does your skin break out or is it blemished?
  12. Do you crave sweets, sugar and bread?
  13. Do you have puffiness, dark circles or bags under the eyes?
  14. Do you feel bloated, gassy or grumpy after the meals?
  15. Do you exercise less than 3 times a week?
  16. Do you have problems to concentrate and poor memory?

If answer is yes to more than 3 questions, you are the right candidate for body detox.

Body Detox

If you have never done any cleanse before, you might want to start with something simple, like 2-day juice cleanse or drink lemon water+cayenne pepper in the morning to see how your body feels. If you are severely toxic, you might experience some side effects, like headaches or dizziness (signs that the body is removing the toxins and that the cleanse is working). It takes some time for the body to detox and get used to the change (either you choose to eliminate number of meals, do the juice cleanse, stop eating the foods you eat every day, etc.)

Consult your health care provider first, if you have questions about detoxification and if it is right for you.

HOW TO DETOXIFY?

You can pick a time of year (preferably 2 times a year) when you will have time to focus on doing the cleanse and can avoid all food temptations (after the holidays, birthdays etc.). You need this time to concentrate on yourself, so don't start the cleanse when you are most stressed out from work or planning a vacation. There are many types of body detox you can do:

Green Smoothie

Colon Hydrotherapy

Ionic Foot Detox

Liver Cleanse

Colon Cleanse

Kidney Cleanse

Heavy Metal Cleanse

Candida Cleanse

Full Body Cleanse

Parasite Cleanse

You can find online or in natural health food stores certain cleansing products how to do each cleanse, just be careful what you buy and do some research before. For me the best source for all cleanses mentioned above is Dr. Edward Group's Global Healing Center who specializes in detoxifying since 1998.

Or you can gradually incorporate these techniques and do daily detox by:

  • drinking more water (at least 8 glasses per day of filtered, purified water – not the bottled one that contains fluoride)
  • having a smoothie instead of meal
  • including raw, organic options into your diet instead of processed food
  • doing a physical exercise 3-4 times a week
  • including more fiber in your diet ( fresh fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, sprouted grains are excellent sources)
  • avoiding the toxins
  • practicing meditation, yoga or daily positive affirmations
  • eating more detoxifying and cancer fighting foods
  • eliminating fried and fast food
  • watching less TV and getting more sleep
  • fasting for at least 24 hours (the best method from lunch one day to lunch the next day)
  • dry-brushing the skin with loofah (in soft circular movements) to exfoliate dead skin using natural body soap (with tea tree oil, peppermint, olive oil, lavender)

You can do wonderful things with regular body detox. You can lose weight, eliminate pain, lower blood pressure, improve energy and mental clarity, reduce skin eruptions or reverse disease. With regular cleansing regimen you promote body's basic self-cleansing functions and restore the health and vitality.
