Halloween Bark

This super easy and totally delicious Halloween bark comes from Foodbabe's blog that I had to share. Made of pure healthy ingredients, you will not want to eat any other Halloween candy full of high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or preservatives.

Why would you? Why should you or your children eat sugary treats on Halloween that will make you sick sooner or later if you can have a real food that is GOOD for you? And it is so EASY to make. Your kids can help too!


  • 1 cup almond butter ( I make my own)

  • 3-4 T coconut oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 and 1/2 T maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup chocolate pieces (like Unreal or Sunspire brands that are not full of harmful additives)

  • 1 tsp almond extract (optional)

I started with roasting my almonds first. I buy them in bulk in Sam's Club which is cheaper than buying small packages. Even though they're not organic, at least they're not processed. So I roast them at 350 *F in my toaster oven for about 7-8 minutes. When you roast them yourself, they taste so much better than when you buy them already roasted. It is a treat itself!

I grind them in my Nutribullet (yeah, again!) into a paste that resembles butter. I have to be careful and pause Nutribullet between grinding, because it is not a food processor. But it is a great machine that gets the job done if you're on the budget. 

When you have your almond butter ready, just mix it with all the other ingredients and pour the mixture onto a parchment paper situated in a 8x8 inch baking pan. Top it with the chocolate pieces and hooray into the freezer! Halloween bark needs to settle for at least 2 hours or even longer if you're not in rush. Then you can cut it or break into small pieces and serve. Store the leftovers in the freezer or refrigerator.
